Books for students

Photo from the Book Drive at LUSD9A recent book drive helped fill shelves in Littlefield Unified School District libraries, with a total of 21 boxes of books donated. Eight of those boxes came from Mesquite’s two Rotary clubs, represented here by Richard Winn, left, shown with Beaver Dam High School librarian Kami Reyes, second from left, Cheryl Edwards, elementary and middle school librarian, and Supt. Riley Frei.

The librarians cataloged the books, putting on the shelves those suitable for the schools. The other books will be given to students and their families to promote reading at home. “Every book helps, and I want to thank the entire community and the Rotary club,” said Frei.
